Objectives of course:
To provide:
A course to dental health care workers who are having difficulty or would like to improve their technique in taking and handling preliminary impressions.
- Information on the Dental Board of California (DBC) “Table of Permitted Duties,” type of supervision for taking for “diagnostic and opposing models,” (Section of law, 1085c1/1760/1762) and for taking “bite registrations,” for diagnostic models for case study only. (Section of law, 1086d14/1760)
- Instruction and address areas of:
impression materials
- mixing techniques
- tray selection, to include special needs for tray adaptation
- information on proper anatomy to be seen in maxillary and mandibular impression.
- patient management
- pre and post impression handling of impression and bite registration.
